The first thing that stuck out to me had to be the contrast, but I think they mentioned enough about it in class. Also, there seemed to be a lot of menu items, is there any way you can make less items? Even though it sounds stupid, the user might get discouraged by having to read so much.
The color scheme is hard to look at. You might want to change around the card graphic to clean it up a bit. I would suggest either finding a larger picture to crop or just create it in vector
Color, color, color. You might think about making the text a logo with a different color and a drop shadow, or putting white cells of some sort behind the text.
Despite our professor's concern about size and resolution, I have to respectfully disagree. I rather like the idea of a website that doesn't demand that the user scroll around. I think it would be interesting to keep a smaller 4:3 size, almost like its own window or a "card" itself.
Yeah, the color contrast needs work. Also using drop shadows or texture will help differentiate the background from your other elements. If you're going to stay with the saturated background, go with white text.
I agree that the color scheme is not the best and if you could use the colors off the card that would be great. Incorporating the waves/curves from the card would also add to the look and feel of the sight.

But don't use a dark purple background with black text. It is very hard to read.

I would use a lighter font on the dark background. Black text is a little hard to read. The rest of the site looks good though.
