There is ALOT of white space. I'm not sure if that is a bad thing or not.
I like the redesign. I think it looks better than your alpha. Looks fine overall and it'll serve its purpose well.
Can you make the red bar stop where the tabs stop? I think that will help make the site a little cleaner.
Think the page looks well. There is still some white space and I am not crazy about the extra space in the tool bar.
The gradient pattern looks a little weak on the projector - which isn't a reliable device though. But, I do like center structured columns. Maybe you could create a darker contrasting gradient to make a very specific center column.
